•Probationary Officer – Probationary Officers in SBI are trained in various departments of the bank for a fixed probationary term. During these term candidates are evaluated. Based on evaluations and performance they are placed in a department of the bank.
•Clerks - Clerks in State Bank of India handle banking and accounting functions as well as clerical functions that include inward and outward invoice, customer services and telemarketing

Academic Competence - Graduates in any stream from a recognized university are preferred for the post of probationary officers. For Clerk Jobs in SBI Intermediate pass (10+2) candidates are preferred. Selection Criteria - Selection Criteria for SBI is conducted in two phases. Phase one is an objective test that probes the candidate on the following sections of English Language, General Awareness, data analysis and interpretation and reasoning. This is 200 mark objective tests. Phase 2 of the test consists of group discussion, interview and experience. Candidate who pass both phases of the test are considered for selection. Marks of both phases are totaled and arranged in descending order.
