SCRA Exam Syllabus SCRA 2014 Online Application Form
SCRA Exam 2015 exam date has been announced by the Union Public Service Commission. Special Class Railway Apprentices-SCRA 2015 exam will be directed for interested and eligible aspirants for appointment as Special Class Apprentices (SCA) in the mechanical department of the Indian Railways. This exam will be conducted on January 18, 2015 (Sunday).
Candidates who pass the SCRA 2015 exam will gain admission to four year intensive programme in Mechanical engineering from Indian Railways Institute of Mechancial and Electrical Engineering Jamalpur. This four year bachelors degree in mechancial engineering is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In turn, candidates who successfully complete this course would be considered for Indian Railways Assistant Mechanical Engineering (AME) Recruitment. This recruitment is very important for aspirants who wish to be recruited and work in the mechanical services of Indian Railways.
SCRA Exam 2016 Dates / Notification:-
SCRA 2015 Exam Eligibility Criteria:-
Nationality:-
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Criteria:-
Applicants aged between 17 and 21 years of age are eligible to apply for SCRA 2015.
Educational Qualification:-
a) Must have passed Intermediate or equivalent exam in the first or second division from university or board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
b) Graduates with Mathematics and atleast one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects may also apply, or
•must have passed in the first or second division, the Higher Secondary (12 years) examination under 10 plus 2 pattern of School Education with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination, or
•must have passed the first year examination under the three year degree course of a university or the first examination of the three year diploma course in Rural Service of the National Council for Rural Higher Education or the third year Examination for promotion to the 4th year of the four year B.A./B.Sc. (Evening College) Course of the Madras University with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination provided that before joining the degree/diploma course he passed the Higher Secondary examination or the Pre-University or equivalent examination in the first or second division.
Candidates who have passed the first/second year examination under the three-years degree course in the first or second division with Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry as subjects of the Examination may also apply; provided the first/second year examination is conducted by a University; or
(d) Must have passed in the first or second division the Pre-Engineering Examination of a university, approved by the Government of India; or
(e) must have passed in the first or second division the Pre-Professional/Pre-Technological Examination of any indian university or a recognised board, with Mathematics and at least, one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination conducted one year after the Higher Secondary or Pre-University stage; or
(f) must have passed the first year examination under the five year Engineering Degree Course of a University : Provided that before joining the degree course, he should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or pre-University or equivalent examination in the first or second division.
Candidates who have passed the first year Examination of the five-year Engineering Degree Course in the first or second division may also apply provided the first year Examination is conducted by a University.
(g) Must have passed in the first or second division the Pre-Degree Examination of the Universities of Kerala and Calicut with Mathematics and with at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
SCRA Exam 2015 Pattern:-
The SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) exam 2014 will be conducted according to the following pattern:-
•Part 01:- Written Examination, carrying maximum of 600 marks in the subjects as given below.
• Part 02:- Personality Test carrying a maximum of 200 marks in respect of only those candidates who are declared qualified on the results of written examination
Part - 01 of the exam pattern of SCRA EXAM comprises of the following papers:
•Paper I:- General Ability Test (English, General knowledge and Psychological Test) - 2 hours and is conducted for 200 marks.
•Paper II:- Physical science (Physics and Chemistry) - 2 hours duration and is conducted for 200 marks.
•Paper III:- Mathematics - 2 hours duration and is conducted for 200 marks.
The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) are set in English only. In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the Metric System of Weights and Measures only will be set.
Question Paper for SCRA 2015 exam will set according to intermediate standard.
Part - II Personality Test:- Personality Test carrying a maximum of 200 marks will be only for those candidates who are declared qualified on the results of written examination. Each candidate will be interviewed by the Board who will have before them a record of his/her career both academic and extramural. They will be asked questions on matters of general interest. Special attention will be paid to assessing their potential qualities of leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities , mental and physical energy, power of practical application and integrity of character.
