SSC is comptroller for recruitments into various departments and ministries of the  government of India. Recruitments to various Central Armed police forces (CAPF) are also conducted by SSC. These organizations’ are specialized police departments that are entrusted with specific functions .Normally recruitments are conducted for the posts of Sub inspectors and Assistant Sub Inspectors. Every year these organizations experience a need of aspirants for various posts including the job profile of  Sub Inspector on  various other specific reasons. This need and requirement in specialized forces is covered each year through SSC SI Recruitment.

 SSC SI Recruitments are conducted for the following central police departments

•Border Security Force (BSF)
•Central Industrial Police Force(CISF)
•Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
•Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBF)
•National Security Guards (NSG)
•Railway protection Force (RPF)
•Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

Job profile of Sub Inspector- A Sub Inspector job is more than just investigation. Officers are also entrusted with charge of  rapid response operations. 

Academic Competence- Graduates in any stream from a recognized university can apply for the post of SI in CAPF or central police forces. 

Selection Procedure- The selection Procedure for SSC Sub Inspectors Recruitment is conducted in three stages

1.Preliminary exam
2.Main Examination
3.Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 

The preliminary examination is a 200 marks paper that contains the following four sections of

A.General Intelligience and Reasoning- non verbal and verbal questions and reasoning
B.General Knowledge/Awareness- current issues and questions from politics, economics and science
C.Quantitative Aptitude- mathematical techniques, formulas and statstical problems
D.English comprehension- English grammar and comprehension

Paper II is 200 mark paper separately for English Comprehension and Grammar

After clearing both papers I and II applicants are required to appear for physical efficiency test that involves a series of drills and exercises. This is followed by a detailed and complete medical examination  mandatory for all candidates. Aspirants vital body measurements are also taken during the test.
