About Gauhati University

Gauhati University was established in the year 1948 in Guwahati, Assam. It is the first University of North East India. It is recognised by the UGC of India.It has also been conferred with a four star rating by NAAC.

The University has Well-equipped laboratories, well stocked library with large collection of textbooks, reference books, rare books, journals, well equipped computer lab with Internet connectivity with a speed of 100 MBPS.

  • Dear Sir, In 1983 I passed BA from GU and joined Indian Air Force. My father got my migration certificate from the university but he had lost it then. Since then I am unable to continue my academic career. I approached 2/3 times in the Administrative block but they say it cannot be issued now.
