About Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya University
Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya (University),Chapra was established in 1990. It is one of the premier universities of Bihar.
The University offering courses at the Under Graduate level and Post Graduate level in most subjects. With a student strength of thousands of students, J.P. University is amongst the largest universities of Bihar.
This University has a central library that boasts of a variety of books and study material to support the students. Distance education students can get study materials at their doorsteps. Necessary academic guidance is provided to all the needy students. Sports and Cultural councils are part of the university.
The 242 acres of land on the eastern side of Chapra town for developing the campus of the Univeristy has been acquired. The campus is being developed according to the Master Plan prepared by internationally acclaimed town planners.
