Periyar Maniammai University - PMU was established in 1988 as Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for Women. It awarded Deemed-to-be University status by UGC in 2006. The university recognised under University Grant Commission (UGC) Act 1956 & Accredited by NAAC with B Grade.
