The minimum eligibility for courses in nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness.
Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.

You have not mentioned your subjects in XII, however, you will be pleased to know that with a science background you have practically all careers open to you. Careers specific to science include Engineering, Medicine, Research, Biotechnology, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Civil Aviation (pilot), Dietician, Merchant Navy, Architecture and Astronomy. However, you are equally eligible to pursue careers in Media, Management, Design, Arts, Psychology, Hospitality, Law or Academics. It will all depend on your area of interest and the kind of work you want to do in the future.
